DRDO RAC Scientist ‘B’ Recruitment 2026: Upcoming Notification

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) through its Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is expected to announce the Scientist ‘B’ Recruitment 2026 soon. This recruitment will fill Group ‘A’ Gazetted positions under the Ministry of Defence across DRDO laboratories in India. The vacancies will be available in Engineering, Life Sciences, and Humanities/Social Sciences disciplines. Candidates must hold a valid GATE score in the relevant subject and fulfill all eligibility conditions. Final selection will be based on GATE score, written examination (if applicable), and/or personal interview.

Eligibility Criteria

Education

Engineering: First Class B.E./B.Tech with a valid GATE score.
Life Sciences: Master’s degree in relevant subjects with GATE.
Humanities/Social Sciences: Master’s degree (Psychology, Sociology, etc.) with valid GATE (XH code).

Salary

Level 10 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500).
Gross monthly salary approx. ₹88,000 to ₹1,00,000 depending on posting city.

Age Limit

UR/EWS: 35 years
OBC (NCL): 38 years
SC/ST: 40 years
PwBD: Additional 10 years relaxation
Ex-Servicemen/Government employees: As per Government of India rules

Selection Process

Shortlisting based on valid GATE score in the relevant subject.
Written Examination (if applicable for specific disciplines).
Personal Interview – final selection will consider GATE + interview marks.
