IAF AFCAT Recruitment 2026 for 280+ Flying Officer Posts

The Indian Air Force (IAF), under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has released the AFCAT 01/2026 Notification for the recruitment of over 280 posts for Flying Officers in Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branches. Both men and women Indian citizens are eligible to apply for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and NCC Special Entry Scheme. The course is scheduled to commence in January 2027. Graduates and engineering degree holders meeting the eligibility can apply online from 10th November to 9th December 2025.

Register and fill the application form with all required personal, educational, and contact details.
Pay the AFCAT application fee of ₹550 through the online payment gateway (NCC & Meteorology Entry are exempt).
Upload scanned documents as per the prescribed format and size.
Submit the application form by 09 December 2025 up to 11:30 PM.
Important Notes
For Flying Branch, applicants must have studied Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 and hold a Graduate or B.E/B.Tech degree.
Separate entries exist for NCC Special Entry and Meteorology.
Candidates will be shortlisted through a written online test followed by subsequent stages of verification.
